Months of planning – and the adventure starts tomorrow! Sixteen honors students, Stacey Wanta, and my husband Steve and I set off for Spain this weekend. Fingers crossed for good weather and good connections, we plan on being in Madrid in time for the Three Kings Parade on January 5th: kings arriving by helicopter, floats, candy, and fireworks – all in celebration of Epiphany! From Madrid to Toledo… Follow along as we travel in time and space to a moment when Muslims, Christians, and Jews lived and worked together in relative peace and harmony. We’ll share the food, crafts, art, architecture… our impressions of the great Mosque of Córdoba, the Alhambra of Granada, the ruins of Medina Azahara, and, of course, the random misadventures that are bound to happen – and are always funnier in the telling than in the experiencing! Wish us luck… and stay tuned!
