We had a beautiful day at Roggenburg! We attended mass in the church Sunday morning. The organ music reverberated throughout the church, and even though the service was in German, the harmonies had a comforting familiarity. Ullrich was our tour guide, and remained with us for the next day as well.
We had a little fun on the playground, and had our meals inside this building.
An orchard on the grounds.
A fountain in the newly completed gardens.
A photo of Roggenburg after a fire caused by lightning strike.
Ullrich sharing his knowledge.
Books from the library at Roggenburg.
A painting of actual Norbertines.
The corner of the painting had a key corresponding to each Norbertine.
There was a letter above each head so you could look up the name of each Norbertine.
The entire group in the garden.
This sculpture is in the cemetery where the Norbertines will be buried. It is representative of Easter, and the door to heaven will be open to them.
