Wow, it has been a long time since I last blogged. I apologize. Hope everyone is doing well. These past couple weeks have been busy with school work as well as basketball workouts. I’ve had several tests and papers these past two weeks and on top of workouts I have had very little down time. Either I am writing a paper or sore from lifting it seems like the school year is closing fast. All is going well except for the weather. The weather has been awful this “spring.” It has not been sunny at all and has snowed multiple times. I looked at the weather forecast for this week and it will reach the 50’s twice. That’s a hard thing to handle knowing that it is mid-APRIL!
Although the weather has been bad the end of the school year is always fun. School is closing out and everyone is getting excited for summer. I have no idea where this year has gone. I feel like just yesterday it was January. This weekend should be fun as our team has its annual banquet so I get to see my family. Saturday night I will be headed to see Garret and Austin, two friends of mine, play at a bar in Kiel. Most of the team and I are going so it will be a blast. Hopefully track, softball and baseball can get a home game in before the end of the year but it isn’t looking promising. Hopefully next time I write that I am wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Keep it real until next time everybody.
What’s up everyone? Hope everyone had a safe spring break! Mine went by way to fast. I had a crazy time in the Bahamas. I went with my family and my friend and his family and we had a ton of fun. The Bahamas is a beautiful island. The first day we were there we just hung by the ocean and relaxed. I went to eat with my parents at a really nice steak house and ate a huge steak. The next day my friend and his family came down and we went to a great seafood restaurant. I had never tried seafood until I went down there and I absolutely loved it. I had some sort of seafood for nearly every meal. At night my friends and I would go to Downtown Nassau. We spent just about every night at the club down there. I met a ton of people from a lot of different states. It wasn’t the craziest spring break spot but I had a great time and it was not something I’m used to!
Coming back was really hard, especially because I have been swamped with school work. I have had one test one paper and one presentation in five days. Not to mention the weather went from 80 degrees and sunny to snowing in the middle of March. Not what I want. However I am happy to be back and heading home soon for Easter. Before I know it I will be getting ready for summer. Until next time keep it real everyone!
What’s good everyone? Man did I have a crazy week. Three tests and two papers. I survived however, and I am happy it is over. I felt as if this past week was never going to end. I ended up doing well on all my assignments and exams, which was a hug relief. School will start to pick up as we only have a little bit of time before spring break!
Well this past weekend was crazy. We hosted the conference tournament and it was an unbelievable atmosphere. There was quite a bit of students from Ripon, our first opponent there. However the St. Norbert students, Norbs Nation, was out in full force. I had never been a part of such a cool atmosphere. They helped us get a huge first win and advance to the championship game. We played Carroll who last year beat us by nearly 30 points in the championship. We ended up dominating and the crowd was crazy again. It was a awesome experience and something I will never forget.
Now we play Wheaton College in the first round of the NCAA tournament. It is very convenient for me as I went to high school in Wheaton so I will be able to see my family and friends. The team is having dinner at my house the night before so hopefully my mom is ready to cook. Hope we can get a win and advance to the next round!
What’s good everyone? How was everyone ones break? Mine was very short! I was only home for six days, including Christmas. For basketball we had to head back here for our holiday tournament. Although being home for only six days is not that fun, being here for J-Term is actually a lot nicer than it seems. We all hang out every day, play video games and watch Netflix. Although the team missed home we were able to win the holiday tournament and beat 6th-ranked Whitewater. We rolled to a twelve game winning streak and most of them were over the holiday break. Also, most of the games over break were at home which made it easy to see family. Although I missed my family it was a fun break from school with still being able to hang with my teammates. The best part of my break though, was when I found out my sister is pregnant with a baby boy! He is due in June and I cannot wait.
This semester has started off very fast and have already accomplished several papers. The weather hasn’t helped the mood as we have gotten very cold and snowy days. It was nice the other day when we had a snow day however now we are behind in some classes. As the semester continues it will be very important to stay on task has we travel the next four weekends. With several more wins we will win conference and host the tournament championship. I think it will be a very intense next month both with academics and athletics.
Wow it has been a long time since my last blog! I do apologize for such a long time away. I have been quite busy with school and with my knee rehab. I needed knee surgery to remove the rest of some cartilage that had been torn. The surgery went well and rehab is going pretty smoothly as well. There are times that my knee gets sore and I do struggle with some exercises. However I have done this before and the most important thing is to keep moving forward.
These past weeks have been very busy as the semester is coming to a close. I’ve had something to do in each class these past weeks. Last week, I needed to do three papers and also had a test. It has been stressful at times however I finished them all on time and did well on each of them. As finals week approaches teachers are finishing up lessons and handing out study guides. This is a great feeling as Christmas break approaches but also a very nerve-racking feeling as well. There is a lot of work to do in the next week but ultimately it means that it is almost time to go home and see friends and family. Biggest key to finals is not looking too far ahead toward break.
What’s good everybody? It has been way too long since I’ve posted! First off I would like to say, Go Irish as they won in dramatic fashion last weekend against Pitt. On a better note, the St. Norbert football team plays for the conference championship tomorrow against my home state Lake Forest Foresters. It will be a very very intense game. Also in athletics the basketball team had a exhibition game against University of Wisconsin Green-Bay. We kept it close and were competitive throughout. This past week for me has been pretty easy minus a couple papers. Classes are going well and I already know what classes I am taking next year. Picking classes and registering is always a stressful time but thankfully I was able to get all the necessary courses I need. This next week will be interesting as I have surgery on my knee friday. Hopefully it will go well and I will be walking in no time. Until next time, keep it real.
Whats good?! Sorry it has been a while since my last blog. I’ve had a very busy past couple weeks with school and basketball starting. I had a test and paper in nearly every class it seemed this past week. Unfortunately I was also limited because of a knee injury during the first week of practice. With going to the doctor and studying as well as practice I felt like there were not enough hours in the day! As far as our team, we are looking very good. Our first game isWednesday, an Exhibition game against UW-Green Bay. We will get to see what it is like playing at a D-1 level. The team seems very excited and ready for the oppurtunity. As far as my knee I’m still deciding on when or if to have surgery again. Not what I want but it may be necessary. On the bright side, Notre Dame is #3 in the country and St. Norbert football controls their own destiny with playoffs. Should be a fun next couple of weeks. Until next time keep it real!
What’s good blog world? Once again, it is Friday, and I am happy as can be. It is fall break right now so I am at home enjoying time with my family. It feels good to be back in Naperville, aka Naper-thrill. Haven’t done much but lay around and work out since being home. So basically I am back to my summer routine. Man did I miss my bed, I slept 13 hours the first night home. I woke up feeling quite energized. Today I ran around with my mom and we watched Jersey Shore together. My mom is originally five miles from Seaside Heights and I used to spend 3 weeks every summer hanging out there. We would travel from Spring Lake, where my mom is from, to Seaside Heights and walk along the boardwalk. I was very young at the time but I still find that I was more mature and probably taller than most of the cast at the age of 9. It is funny to laugh at them because my mom gets so upset that they are considered Jersey people. They are all from outside New Jersey. Still we both watch and she is either disgusted or laughs very hard.
Tomorrow my roommates and I as well as my family and their friends are going to Soldier Field- not to watch the Bears- but to watch Notre Dame play Miami. The old Catholic vs Convicts game. I am very excited but nervous. If Notre Dame loses, my next blog will NOT be a happy one. However I would rather have the St. Norbert football team and my buddy James Tringali win at Cornell and show them what the Midwest Conference is all about. Until next time, stay classy and keep it real.
Whats good!?!?! Man it feels good to be back at SNC. Summer went by way to fast and I can’t believe we are done with week 2. I started off great and week one went by very slow because I was excited to go back home for my sister’s wedding. By the time Friday came around I was ready to go. My whole family was in town which meant all of my mom’s eight brothers and sisters. We have a very big family so the weddings are always crazy. Before the dinner Friday I was able to watch my green knights play in Ireland. And well it was a game to improve on I guess. We all have our bad days. I guarantee they come to play tomorrow against Knox.
Anyways the wedding was amazing and my sister seemed really happy, but for me it was all about the party. I had a blast with my family and friends. My teammates from the St. Norbert Basketball team were able to come down and have a good time. It ended just as quickly as it came and soon enough I was back at Norbs. Luckily it was a short week and now I’m ready for a fun weekend. Classes go by slow but it all is worth it when Friday comes. I’m off to do a scavenger hunt with the basketball team, I will catch you guys later.
