Twelve members of the St. Norbert College community will be embarking on a 5-day service trip to Santa Maria de la Vid in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In partnership with the southwestern Norbertine community, our trip will focus on discussion, education and reflection of immigration in the United States.
The Communio y Communidad trip was prefaced with monthly meetings throughout the academic year to learn more about the intersection of immigration and Catholic Social Teaching. This was accomplished by way of readings, discussions and interactions with members of our Norbertine and local latino communities.
Participants come from all areas of the college with the purpose of serving a walk of life unfamiliar to most. What lies ahead may be uncertain, though we are all guided by the desire to live, act and be communio to every brother and sister in Christ.
