So here we are: Finals week
12/10/07 at 04:25:53 pmSo here we are: Finals week. In comparison to all my previous finals weeks, this one is relatively low-stress. I only have two in-class finals in Organic Chem and Intro to Theology. My final in Intro to US History got changed to a take-home exam, so I have had a chance to finish that one up before I even began studying for my other exams. I also have the luxury of taking my exams on Thursday and Friday which gives me three entire weekdays to devote to studying and nothing else. Organic Chem is one of the classes that count towards my major and it just so happens to be my only comprehensive exam. I’m not looking forward to looking way back into my notebook and reviewing things from August and September.
Other than finishing up my academic year, I’ve been keeping busy with soccer as well. The guys and I have been playing indoor games at Schuldes or at the Sports Emporium. We also just found out that our head coach has resigned and a search for a new coach has begun. I would personally like to thank Coach Dale Rhodes for a stellar couple of seasons. He compiled a 78-18-4 record in his tenure, along with an impressive 42-2-1 record against conference teams. He will be missed and the new coach will have some big shoes to fill, but we are all keeping focused and concentrating on working harder than ever. Since the new coach won’t know who we are, no one has a secured position.
I can not wait until break! Most of my friends don’t get done with classes until the week after me, so my buddy Andrew (who goes to Marquette) and I are going to maximize that time and hit the slopes everyday while everyone else is studying and taking exams. I wish I would have had more time to snowboard these last couple weeks, but my roommate AP and I have been super busy with school. I am also taking a trip to Colorado for a couple days with my girlfriend and her family, so that will be another chance I get to board. I’m also having a surgical procedure on December 28th, so if you get a chance, say a quick prayer or two for me. I am missing an indoor tournament with my new summer league team, FC Magic of Appleton, so I’m a little disappointed in that.
I’ll be sure to let you all know how my five week-long break goes. I suppose I’ll have to get a job and make a few bucks, but other than that I look forward to relaxing and enjoying the time off. Have a great holiday season and I’ll catch up with you all later!
