I play goalkeeper on the Men's soccer team at SNC. I love all sports but participated in soccer and wrestling in high school. I decided to attend SNC because of the challenging academics I faced, but the one-on-one attention I wanted with my professors. I'll be doing my best to give the prospective students an inside look at St. Norbert.

Lots of Changes

11/19/07 at 09:16:49 am

Well, the past couple of weeks have brought a lot of change. First off, I decided to change my major from Biomedical Sciences to Organismal Biology. Although my major has changed, my Pre-dental concentration stays the same. I decided that biology was much more interesting to me than chemistry and thought taking more biology classes would suit my needs better. Organic chemistry still requires a lot of studying and preparation but due to the extra free time I have now, it is more bearable.
Our soccer season came to an abrupt end two weekends ago with a loss to Carroll College in the championship game of the Midwest Conference Tournament. A win would have given us an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, but for the first time in six years we did not make it. Although we completed the entire conference season without a loss (9-0), only the victor of the tournament advances to nationals. On the bright side of things, the loss gives our young team a lot of motivation to work hard in the off-season and make sure we never end our season early again.
With Thanksgiving break just around the corner, I'm real excited to see all my friends from back home. Soccer requires a lot of traveling and weekends at school playing games, so the only time I see my parents is after my games for a brief catch-up. It will be nice to sleep in my own bed and eat some of Mom's and Grandma's world-famous turkey dinners. Like I said, the majority of my friends will be back in La Crosse for the weekend and what's better than eating myself silly and hanging out with old friends? Needless to say, I'm real pumped.
Once we get back from break we only have two weeks of classes before finals week. It's all coming down to the wire now. Due dates for papers are approaching and with final exams looming on the horizon, I am looking forward to getting another semester of school under my belt.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
