Well lets see here, my name is Caitlin Whitney I am 21 and I am from Crystal Lake, IL which is north of Chicago. I am a cheerleader on campus and a waitress at the Abbey Bar. My twin sister and I love St. Norbert we couldn't have asked for a better school to fall in our lap. The funny story is that Meredith and I came on a football-recruiting day with a buddy and to make a long story short. Mere and I dropped the other schools we were going to and fell in love with SNC!! The staff, people and community couldn't be greater when looking for a college!

One down One to go

12/11/07 at 03:41:41 pm

Well we are getting down to the end of this semester, and I am then heading into the final semester of my senior year… it’s kind of scary I’m not going to lie. However, let me back up a bit, I hope Thanksgiving went well for everyone, I had a great time – got home Thanksgiving morning at 10a.m. (which means we left at 6a.m.) and then I helped my sister and my dad make the turkey dinner. Meredith brought her boyfriend Seth home for Thanksgiving and so my dad, Seth, Mere, my two brothers and I watched the Packer game and then ate! I seriously think I took like 3 naps that day. It was nice to be home even if it was for such a short time, I got to relax see some friends and have a good time.
Once I got back to school though, it wasn’t so fun. Those two weeks after Thanksgiving and before finals are rough, all of the professors just love to pile you with papers, presentations, quizzes and other not so fun assignments. Not to mention I was still cheerleading, holding SHRM meetings and working. This is when I will say that honestly the greatest lesson I have learned at college is time management. You want to be involved in so many things or whatever but always you have to manage your time. Having or spending time on studies, groups, activities, work and making sure you still get that time with your friends etc. It makes you realize your priorities and what is valuable to you in your life and then making time for that/them. I’m not saying it is easy but it is just something you do for the things and people you care about. It has definitely been stressful but I am heading into my last final tomorrow and then I will just be CHEERLEADING, working and what not until I leave for home on Monday or Tuesday (next week).
I can’t wait to get home for the Holidays; it is going to be hard next week though, because on Tuesday it will be the one-year mark from when my nana died last year. My mom, sister, brothers and I are going to be decorating the tree on that day, in here honor! Then the following week I will be attending my grandfather’s wedding – how many times in your life can you say that? It will be a really good time though, because Meredith and I are singing in the wedding and then let me tell you that man knows how to throw a party so the reception is going to be entertaining. Oh and I forgot to tell you, I got that internship at the YMCA!!! Which is so great, the ladies that I will be working with seem super fun and I am truly excited to see what I get to do! So I will be coming back to De Pere beginning of January to start the internship and work at the good ole’ Abbey Bar. Not to mention I will be cheerleading as well, we have a couple games over break, which is always fun to come back and have fun with the girls! I don’t know what I am doing for New Years so that will just have to be read in the next blog! Until, then have fun, safe and happy holidays!
