Christmas and Nana
01/09/07 at 08:51:51 amHey All, Happy New Year...
Sorry I haven't written in a long time, seems like a consistent excuse for me but, I have had a lot on my mind lately. It is great to be on break but unfortunately it has not been the happiest time. In the beginning of October my Nana got sick again and the week of Christmas she died. This was my first death experience and very monumental. She was my idol and a great woman, her courage and strength could motivate anyone! I would have never gotten through it if it wasn't for my family, friends and great boyfriend Ryan. My coach and girls on the Cheerleading squad were great in understanding, comforting me and letting me be where and with the people I needed to be; along with Ryan and my friends being there for me whenever I needed them. Everything was about as beautiful as a death could be... if that makes sense. My family mourned but more importantly celebrated her life. My grandma's theme songs for her wake and funeral were "Celebrate Me Home" (I don't know the artist that sings this song) and "I run for life" by Melissa Etheridge. My family and I will never forget her and we are happy she is no longer in pain. Unfortunately, I have nothing else really to say, this experienced has seriously affected me.
