This is my first year at St. Norbert. I transferred from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I choose SNC because of its small campus and class size, and because of its small town atmosphere. Even though I only live about 10 minutes from campus, I still choose to live in the dorms so I can meet people and become involved on campus. I was involved in a lot of leadership activities at UW-L and I hope to do the same here. I am currently a biology major, in hopes of one day going on to dental school to become an orthodontist.

Winter Break!

12/16/07 at 07:17:39 pm

I just had my last final exam today and it feels great to finally have winter break! Finals week is very stressful for most students, and I know it was very stressful for me. I ended up cramming for every final because I didn’t study ahead of time. My recommendation...give yourself plenty of time to study to reduce some stress! However, every semester I say that I will study in advance but I usually end up studying the night before because it gets difficult to try and study for 4 classes at one time! So to treat myself after a long semester, I am going to the Day Spa on Monday to get a hot stone massage. I absolutely cannot wait!
Over break I am taking a class called “Women in Islam” to fulfill a general education requirement. So even though my winter break will only be about 2 weeks long I am really looking forward to it! I am going to try and spend a lot of time with family and friends. I’m very excited to see my friends that will be home from college, especially my roommates from last year at UW LaCrosse. Besides taking a class, I will also be working a lot over break to earn some extra money. I hope everyone enjoys their holiday season as much as I intend to!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!

The End is Near!

So, the end of the semester is coming to a close and it is hard to believe that final exams are only 1 week away. The semester has gone so fast and before I know it Christmas break will be here. The second half of the first semester has gone very well for me. I was having some trouble in Organic Chemistry but my teacher and other students have been a great help. I have been very busy with exams, papers, and work. I am a waitress at a local breakfast café so that consumes most of my time on the weekends. With the time that I do have left I have been hanging out with friends and starting to prepare for finals!
My involvement in the social group CCHams is going very well. We haven’t been as busy the second half of the semester as we were the first, which is a good thing because homework tends to pick up towards the end of the semester. However, I did do a social project and an education project with CCHams. Our social project was called Up til Dawn and it was to help St. Jude’s Hospital which deals with children that have terminal illnesses. For our education project we listened to a speaker about the legal side of Facebook and the internet. It was actually quite interesting and almost amazing as to what people get in trouble for because of things they have put on the internet. I have also been trying to get to the gym to work out more lately because it tends to be a great stress reliever! So anyways working, schoolwork, CCHams, and working out has pretty much been my life these last couple of weeks. And of course I have been getting ready for Christmas and I can’t wait until break!
