This is my first year at St. Norbert. I transferred from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I choose SNC because of its small campus and class size, and because of its small town atmosphere. Even though I only live about 10 minutes from campus, I still choose to live in the dorms so I can meet people and become involved on campus. I was involved in a lot of leadership activities at UW-L and I hope to do the same here. I am currently a biology major, in hopes of one day going on to dental school to become an orthodontist.

Well spring break is over, and it is back to the usual schedule…classes, studying, and work. I had a great break even though I didn’t go anywhere, but it was just nice to relax. I spent my time catching up on lost sleep and working out. I was also able to spend a lot of time with friends so that was really nice. However, probably one of the best days was on Easter Sunday when the SNC hockey team won the Division III Championship game! The game was very exciting to watch and the team played really well, but before I watched the game I spent some time with family that I haven’t seen in awhile. Overall, it was a fun and relaxing break, but way too short! I can honestly say that I am defiantly ready for summer. I have been really worn down lately between work and school but the weeks seriously go so fast that I am sure summer will be here before I know it and then I will probably wish I was back in school instead of working two jobs.
Tomorrow night CCHams gets to pick their ugly for next year. An ugly is someone from one of the boy’s social groups on campus. He will represent us in certain events, such as homecoming, and at dances or social functions. Picking our ugly should be pretty fun and interesting because I’m not really sure what to expect. We also don’t have school on Tuesday because it is advisement day so this week should be fairly easy and go by fast! Anyways, I have to get back to studying because I have an exam tomorrow!

Spring Break!

03/11/08 at 12:15:11 pm

Lately school has been going pretty well; although it is getting somewhat overwhelming, and I am really ready for spring break. I have actually been swamped with papers and exams, especially this last week before break because all of the teachers try to cram in one last assignment or exam. But anyways, this past weekend I went to the Phi Delts dance with a few girls from CCHams and it was a great time and a good way to get my mind off of homework. I don’t really have any plans for break besides relaxing and probably working out because I have not been making it to the gym lately. So hopefully, I will be de-stressed after break and ready for the last half of second semester! Until next time, I hope everyone has a great spring break and is considering attending St. Norbert next fall!

Same Old Things

There hasn’t been too much going on since the last time I wrote. Studying and working on the weekends still keeps me really busy. I have my first exam in genetics this week so I will be really busy preparing for that. I’m sure it will be very hard! Speaking of my genetics class, in lab right now we are mating fruit flies which is pretty interesting.
This weekend I have a CCHams dance. I’m so excited! They are usually a lot of fun! Besides that, I don’t have much else going on. I guess right now I’m just looking forward to spring break. I think it’s only about 30 days away! I don’t really have any plans for break. I will probably just try and get together with some of my friends from
La Crosse. Well, hopefully I will have more interesting things to talk about next time I write!

Spring Semester

02/05/08 at 01:18:45 pm

It’s hard to believe that we are already starting the third week of the second semester. My winter break went ridiculously fast because of having a J-term class, which by the way turned out very well. I am really glad I took it because it was a great way to get credits completed and a way for me not to be bored over break!
So anyways, now my spring semester is a different story. I am insanely busy already and loaded down with homework. I am taking three science courses: General Biology II, Organic Chemistry II, and Genetics along with a non-science course called Introduction to the Humanities through the Fine Arts. So to say the least I am very busy and the stress is starting to build, which is why I have tried really hard to make it to the gym at least 3-4 times a week. It’s a great tool for stress management.
On a happier note I am still involved with CCHams, a social group here on campus. We just had our initiation night last Friday so now I am an official hammer! It was a ton of fun and being in the group has been a great way to get to know people. Well anyways, I think I’m going to get back to some homework!

J-Term

01/21/08 at 08:13:11 am

So it’s hard to believe that Winter break is almost done and the spring semester is fast approaching! I always love the beginning of a new semester and I can’t wait for next semester to start. I will be having three science classes instead of only one like I had last semester so I’m sure I will be very busy! Over winter break I decided to take a J-term class called Women In Islam so I wouldn’t get bored sitting at home for 5 weeks! I have also been waitressing on the weekends and a couple days during the week so I have actually been very busy over break! I am extremely busy this week; I have a paper due and a final exam on Friday. But I do recommend taking a J-term class because it gives you a chance to earn 4 credits in only 2 ½ weeks! However, I do intend to fully enjoy this weekend as it will be the last weekend before second semester starts and I can’t wait to watch the Packer game on Sunday. Go Pack Go!!
